Popping audio when tuning G4000A

by drewan <drewan.2e1a488@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 8, 2008 at 02:19 AM

Hello folks,

I'm glad to have found this group because of my recent frustration with
a new G4000A (replacement for ailing SW7600). It is a new open box item
that I bid $83 on ebay. It came in original box with all accessories -
excellent condition.

It operates just fine except when using earphones. It doesn't matter if
am/fm/sw bands are tuned. On each up/down button press, an annoying
popping/clicking sound is hear. When the up/down tune button is held
down, the frequency increments as expected and popping also happens on
each step. This becomes unbearable after a few minutes of tuning. When
using the speaker, the popping is not so obvious.

Are there any G4000A (YB400PE) owners that have experienced this?

I'm quite disappointed and am tempted to return to seller. I would much
rather repaired it unless it is an inherent design flaw.

Thank you for all suggestions.

-Andrew
