MINUTES OF THE JULY 1, 2008 CCRAA MEETING

MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 5, 2008 MEETING
The meeting opened at 7:02 pm EDT with the Secretary (KD8CTL) reading
the minutes
of the July 1, meeting. (Not re****ted during the July meeting) They
included a re****t
from the Property committee showing that the clubhouse is in good
shape, and all
systems were working. No other committee re****ts were available. Since
there was a
health issue with the present Secretary, Gavrielah Hojnacki (KD8CTL)
George, W8FWG
offered his services to fill in the remainder of her term as =93Acting
Secretary.=94 This offer
was accepted by the existing Secretary, and approved by the President,
with an
amendment to serve up to the time of the next election in March of
2009. This was
agreed to by George, W8FWG. Self introductions followed, with the
following radio
amateurs present at the meeting: KD8CTL, KB9RQZ, N8ZBJ, WA8JSF, W8ERB,
W9VLM, W8ILS, W4KAR, WB8ZYL, WA8QNF, K6IPC, W8DAO, KB8XI and
W8FWG. Our President voiced concern of the ongoing uncertainly of the
operation of
our 146.670 MHz repeater in Herman. George, W8FWG re****ted for Chuck,
WB8FCY,
that this property may have already been sold by the DNR, to a radio
or TV broadcasting
company but that we had no assurance that that had taken place. George
offered to
contact the DNR (a ham in the DNR, whom he knows) to get the latest
information on
that site, and to re****t back to the President of the club, ASAP.
Treasurer=92s Re****t: By
Paul, W9VLM, indicated we have received a request from the State of
Michigan
regarding our charter and status as a non-profit organization. This
means a charge of $20
annually, and the Treasurer was instructed to pay it. At 7:36 pm
Gavrielah had to leave
suddenly (no reason given) and the roster of those present was turned
over to George,
W8FWG. Glenn, WA8QNF asked this question of the President. =93Mark, in
the interest
of the CCRAA would you be willing to step down as President of the
organization.?=94
The answer given by Mark was =93No!=94 In view of the =93turbulence=94
that
occurred, the
Property Chairman=92s re****t (W8FWG=92s re****t) did not get read, but it
is included here as
follows: All utilities within the building are operational, and the
weekly routines are
being kept up, the monthly check of the emergency engine was
completed, an additional
operating chart was made up and a new antenna tuning guide was added.
The lawn was
not mowed, per the President=92s request, because of his allergy to
newly mown grass. The
water leak at the roof has been corrected and one problem with a door
switch remains and
that should be taken care before the next meeting. Cataloging of the
small parts cabinet
continues, and now that we have a new computer this should be
completed by year=92s
end..
A motion made by Glenn, WA8QNF and seconded by Roy, WB8ZYL to =93Remove
Mark,
KB9RQZ from the office of President of the CCRAA=94 was introduced, and
a discussion
followed. When it came to a vote, there was one ABSTENTION, one NO
vote, 11 YES
votes, and the motion carried. George, W8FWG, being appointed Acting
Secretary took
ending notes. The next meeting of the CCRAA is scheduled to be held at
the Osceola
Clubhouse on September 2, 2008 at 7:00pm EDT. Since there was no
longer a quorum
(without a President or Vice President present), a motion to adjourn
was entertained by
Roland, KB8XI and seconded by Glenn, WA8QNF, and the meeting adjourned
at
8:45pm EDT
