Yaesu VR-120D

by Alasdair <mail@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 23, 2008 at 11:36 PM

I bid on a Yaesu VR-120D on Ebay but my bid was not successful. I'm
glad. Although the bumph says that it covers 100kHz - 1300MHz
AM, FM, WFM (Cellular / Image Restricted) , I find there are many gaps
in the coverage.

On further investigation the following frequencies are missing:
339-340, 351-352, 372-373, 384-385, 396-397, 482-483, 496-497,
504-505, 511-512, 542-549, 558-572, 605-615, 620-630, 784-798,
807-820, 824-849 and 869-894 MHz.

What do they mean by "Cellular/Image" and why are there all these
gaps? It's not a cheap radio so does this mean that continuous
coverage is becoming a thing of the past?
